How to build a simple deck?
How to do custom deck construction? We have discussed here a simple deck construction method that you can follow to build a deck. Step1. Attach the laser First, locate the top of the laser and snap a level chalk line. Cut 2 inch wide, 1½ inch thick treated wooden speakers for every 2 feet length and aligns the top of each spacer with a chalk line and fastens with 6D nails. Now align the trench with the top of the spacers and nail the wall of each spacer with a 16D nail. Step2 Protect the laser Fold the membrane along its centerline to make an angle and apply it over the laser-to-home joint so that one foot covers the spacer block and the top of the trench, and the other foot extends to the wall. Now fold the metal to form a right angle. Apply it on the waterproof membrane and run the nails over the roof with the top edge of the flashing every 8 inches. Step3. Set Footings Dig a hole in each foot so that it is deep enough to hold the ground form and extend below the snow line. Now assemble the foot parts as per the manufacturer’s instructions and collect the hole forms one by one in each hole. Step4. Install post base and side rim joist Place a post base on top of the pier and position it so that it does not interfere with the joist hanger and mark its position. Now remove the post base and replace the post base with a hammer drill. Then insert an anchor bolt and tighten with an impact wrench. Step5. Install front rim joists, beams, and interior joists Attach the concealed-flange double zest hangers to the inner 2x end of the front rim joist and fit the inner 2x s to the post base. Fit the side rim joist on the front hanger and post with the nails on the front rim joist 2x post hanger. Now drive 16D nails at the end of the side rim joist with the mouth of the front rim joist and repeat the same with the rim joist on the other side. Step6. Attach trim and decking Finally, measure the outside distance of the walls and trim board and add 1 inch for overhang. Then cut the deck boards according to the length. Continue gluing and nailing until the deck is complete and replaces the house siding within 1 to 1 inch of the decking.
